Educational E-Mail Services

Directions On How To Subscribe To E-Mail Lists

The following list of e-mail services was collected during aa short stint in Graduate Studies at the University of Saskatchewan. It is based on a public domain FAQ produced by a member of the English Course Council. These lists are primarily for the use of college and university students, but anyone interested or knowledgeable in any of the areas is welcome.

Send e-mail to the first address listed in each entry. This will send a subscription notice to an automatic e-mailer. You should receive a reply within the next twenty-four hours, usually within seconds. If not, try again. When composing e-mail to send to the various lists, remember to follow these two rules (otherwise, you will not be subscribed):

You will be sent confirmation of your subscription and a number of important notes: PAY ATTENTION TO THEM! They describe, among other things, how to unsubscribe when you are finished with the list.

  1. Leave the "Subject:" line blank.
  2. In the message body, *ONLY* (no signatures) write: subscribe listname firstname lastname. The "listname" is indicated for each entry (before the text description) and you probably have a good idea about your first and last names. =)
